Super DIRTcar Series Notes: Halloween In Delaware

GEORGETOWN, Del. — Halloween night means the Beasts of the Northeast are ready to battle in Delaware.

The Super DIRTcar Series visits Georgetown Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 31, to finish off the track’s Mid-Atlantic Championship weekend. Drivers will compete in a 60-lap feature, paying $10,000-to-win.

Joining the Super DIRTcar Series are the RUSH Late Models, and the track’s Sportsman, Charger, and Little Lincoln divisions.

Kid Rocket Leads

With four races remaining in the 2026 season, Alex Yankowski is in the driver’s seat to become the youngest champion in Super DIRTcar Series history. The Covington Township, Pa., driver enters the weekend with a 96-point lead over three-time and defending series champion Mat Williamson.

Yankowski has already found success this season at Georgetown, winning the Delaware Diamond Clash in May. Overall, he has four wins at the Delaware oval along with 15 top fives and 19 top 10s in 27 starts.

A win on Saturday will be his fifth series win of 2026, and ninth of his career.

Williamson, meanwhile, has one career victory at Georgetown, earning that triumph during Mid-Atlantic Championship weekend in 2022.

Overall, he’s made six starts at Georgetown, finishing in the top five in five of them. The St. Catharines, Ontario, driver has back-to-back fourths in his last two series starts at the four-tenths-mile track.

A win by Williamson will be his 40th series triumph.

The Podium

Behind the top two, only 28 points separate positions three through five in Super DIRTcar Series standings.

Alex Payne leads Jimmy Phelps by 20 points for the final podium spot and has found success at Georgetown. The Hopewell, N.Y., driver won last November’s stop but had a 16th earlier this season. He’s aiming for his sixth feature win.

Like Payne, Phelps has only made three starts at Georgetown in his career, earning a top five and two top 10s. All three of Phelps’ starts at the track are Series appearances, including a third in 2008, an eighth last November, and a 13th in May.

If the Baldwinsville, N.Y., driver wins on Saturday, it’ll be his third series win of the season, and 25th of his career.

Trailing Phelps by eight points for fourth is Jack Lehner, who is having his best career Super DIRTcar Series season. The Saratoga Springs, N.Y., driver has three top fives and 14 top 10s this season, including a streak of seven straight top-10 finishes dating back to SummerFAST.

At Georgetown, the “Ginga Ninja” has made four starts, including an eighth in May. He’s searching for his first career Super DIRTcar Series triumph.

The Rookies

This year’s MD3 Rookie of the Year battle hasn’t been decided yet, as Tyler Dippel leads Matt Caprara by 42 points entering the weekend.

Dippel, from Walkill, N.Y., finished 10th when the series visited Georgetown in May, and has a victory at the track in 2014 in his first start at the facility. Caprara, meanwhile, is expected to make his second start at Georgetown, after an 18th-place finish in May.

While eyes are on Caprara and Dippel to win Rookie of the Year, Paul Mancini and Ryan Krachun have more experience at Georgetown than most of the other Super DIRTcar Series stars.

Krachun has made 56 starts at the track, earning one victory in 2023, 14 top fives, and 32 top 10s. The Neshanic Station, N.J., driver also has momentum entering the weekend. He earned a 358 Modified victory last weekend at Delaware International Speedway. Krachun is currently fourth in Georgetown’s track points.

Mancini, meanwhile, has made 13 starts at Georgetown, earning a top five and five top 10s.

All four drivers are searching for their first series win.

Experience

Along with Krachun, a few drivers in the field will have raced at Georgetown all season.

That starts with points leader Danny Bouc, who’s expected to make his second series start of 2026 on Saturday. Bouc, from Pipersville, Pa., scored three wins this season at the track, along with nine top fives in 10 starts. He finished ninth in the Delaware Diamond Clash earlier this season.

Behind him in the standings is two-time Super DIRTcar Series winner Ryan Godown, who won twice at the four-tenths-mile track this season. The Ringoes, N.J., driver has started all three Super DIRTcar Series events at Georgetown, finishing 15th in 2008, seventh last November, and 21st in May.

Overall, Godown has 18 wins at the Delaware facility.

One more driver to watch this weekend is Billy Pauch Jr., who also has three victories at Georgetown this season. The Frenchtown, N.J., driver, who’s searching for his first series win, had seven top fives in eight starts at the track this season. Pauch has 19 career wins at Georgetown.
